Quantum² Framework

The Quantum² program was developed in recognition of the need for ongoing career development in the information professional community. It is offered in the spirit of mutual benefit and as a result of the highly valued relationship Dialog has always had with its clients. We are grateful for the input and requests we received from information professionals worldwide, and hope our clients will continue to help us enhance the program.

The Quantum² program encompasses the range of professional activities and associated management, planning, and communications competencies necessary for success and career advancement. In the sections below we describe the elements in that range, arranged according to the typical components in a continuous strategic planning and implementation process.

These are areas of professional activity that Dialog sees as part of leadership. Tackling any one of these can be an enhancement of the professional role. However, being able to work within the context of the whole framework and developing competencies across the spectrum of elements is the hallmark of vision and leadership.

These areas are not meant to be sequential. However, each ideally happens in parallel, supporting the others. The following framework discusses each of these elements and offers additional resources for support in the form of web sites, papers, marketing tools and Quantum² presentations.
